First introduced in the Church’s collections in 1929, the Shanghai Monk Strap has continually evolved through vintage-inspired variations highlighting the brand’s artisanal expertise. This rendition is crafted from soft calfskin hand-treated for an antiqued, distressed finish and features classic brogue detailing paired with wool inserts adorned in a traditional tailoring motif. The result is a rich interplay of textures that speaks to the legacy of English craftsmanship. Fringes and a uniquely finished rubber sole further emphasise its distinct vintage character. Constructed through a meticulous process involving around 500 individual steps, this design seamlessly bridges classic and avant-garde styles, offering a versatile and timeless expression.
